I'm about 10-11 weeks along in this pregnancy and started bleeding today around 11:30 (and haven't stopped).
I went to the hospital, where the doctors checked the baby and me out... all looks normal. Baby's heart is beating, and the baby is very active. There is no known cause for this bleeding, but it is pretty heavy - for my sisters in Christ, like a menses, maybe heavier though (or, at least faster flowing).
Although all looks fine and there is no explanation for the bleeding, the doctors say there is a threat of miscarriage. Please pray for this baby and our family.
Thank you. You are all in my prayers.

May God bless you both. Have frequent recourse to the Mother of us all, the Holy Theotokos for her intercession.

Perhaps some of us mothers in waiting might want to know that God has been manifesting "myrhh streaming icons" that have been attributed to healing powers, especially in miscarriage and infertility situations.
I never became pregnant again after miscarrying 2 times, the 2nd loss was that of a perfect baby girl. We buried her remains through the Ruthenian church in Trumbull CT and in a casket (baby casket) in my grandparents burial plot at St John The Baptist Greek Catholic cemetery in Stratford near the intersection of Route 108 & 8 and Merritt Parkway.
The death of any child, born or unborn is a tragic loss which a parent (mother or father) will feel as a painful void for the rest of their days. The priest who attended our baby's funeral Liturgy consoled me saying "God was distraught and mourned the death of His Son". But God takes back to Him what he creates.
I hope your little one makes it through.
There is an Orthodox Community in michigan with a miraculous myrhh streaming icon. I am looking for some paperwork I printed out from the internet on this, perhaps if you do a search on Google using Michigan and Miracle icon you may be able to contact the priest and ask him to send you some. Holy things used in faith are a blessing from God.
I feel deeply in my heart for any mother who is experiencing what you are going through, the uncertainty is horrible. And what Dr Alan Beer told me, too, is that in American Obstetrics, there is no "profit" motive for pharmaceutical companies and the traditional medical infrastructure to really research the cause of "repeat" unexplained miscarriage. Of course, science can always detect the "why" of something biological, it just takes time, research, computing cycles and the dedicated committment of physicians who really care about preventing prenatal loss.
Meanwhile, I am looking for the internet info on this Michigan icon and will post it here. It is in Michigan and has been known to bring God's blessing to quite a few "Abraham and Sarah" situations.
You & you little one are in my prayers. Adriatic

Prayers indeed - I've got two in the Blessed Mother's lap. Adriatic, can I point you to a website? www.innocents.com [ innocents.com] is the website of the Church of the Holy Innocents in NYC. Click on their Shrine Book of Life. This is a real book, in a real Catholic church. The Book is inscribed with the names (or designations - mine are in as "two little ones known to God") of babies who did not live to be born. People stop in there to pray every day. Every month there is a Mass in honor of these babies. Nobody will try to sell you anything. A few weeks after you register, they will send you a very nice certificate acknowledging your baby or babies' registration in their Book of Life. It's a very healing and comforting thing to know that your baby will never be forgotten. In Christ, Sharon

Angela, thank you for asking and for your prayers.
I decided to wait on the update till after my doctor's appointment today. So, here is the latest:
The bleeding stopped yesterday morning. I had an OB appointment today, and the doctor said there is no internal bleeding right now. The baby's heartbeat was strong and in the 160s.
He said that looking back at the October 4th ultrasound, a small subchorionic hemmorhage was identified. He says it is normal and that it usually resolves itself or sloughs off (thus the bleeding, in his opinion). He does not expect further bleeding, but it is possible. I'm also scheduled for a follow-up ultrasound next week for the subchorionic hemmorhage (to see if it is no longer there).
Technology has its benefits and its drawbacks. Looking online about subchorionic hemmorhages, everything I see is very dismal - lots of miscarriages. But, my doctor played it off as nothing to worry about (maybe size plays a factor?). I pray I find information online that gives me hope, or that I at least have the wisdom to stop looking if there is truly nothing to be concerned about.
Thank you all for your continued prayers.
Kelly
