Please pray for the repose of the soul of my Grandmother, Gertrude Weakland, who passed from this life tonight.

Memory Eternal to your grandmother!
Tomorrow our family will commemorate 5th anniversary of my grandmother's falling asleep in the Lord.
I understand what you're going through and will keep you in my prayers for your strength.

Dear Lance,
My grandmother's anniversary of death was August 12th.
She was a presbytera whose example of love and prayer was one that will always be with me.
She had cancer and was operated on in hospital. The doctors gave her three days and said if she survived them, she would live a little while longer.
The night before the day she died, I dreamed I was in her hospital room and that she was holding a Communion Chalice. She took Communion and said, "Now I'll die as a saint."
The next day she died just as we were entering the hospital to visit her.
She had just received Communion and it was so moving to see her lying in blessed repose just as I had seen her in my dream the night before.
She answers my prayers and responds to my needs to this day.
She embroidered a cloth for me with the Ukrainian Trident on it. She said that when I look at it I'll remember her and say a prayer for her.
I still do.

Our Parish Mass this morning was a funeral for one of the members .
Your Grandmother came into my mind again - and my prayers were for her as well as George
May the angels lead them into Paradise where the Lord has prepared a place for them.
May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace

Dear Lance,
May her memory be eternal+, and that your family may rejoice over having one more family member at home with the Lord.
That you may be sustained in all that you must undertake as a family and hold on tight to each other and Jesus. And rejoice in her life for many things, also as she also co-operated in generations for your coming into the world to serve God in the role of deacon.
