Dear friends,
Well, I got the call today and was laid off. My firm has taken some hits with lawyers leaving and a loss of some business lately and the powers that be have decided to cut the library staff down one. I ask for your prayers in finding a new job relatively soon for myself and for some of my co-workers who have also tasted the brunt of the falling economy.

mikey. I am sorry to hear about your job situation. I know how it feels having been laid of my self on May 10, '02. I was worried and angry when I was laid off, but eventually came to realize that this might be a good time to move on career wise. Strange thing was that as time went on, I felt more at ease with myself than the previous 7 years at my former/ current employer. while I was unemployed, I did some serious soul searching (which is far from over)and a lot more praying than I had done in years before. (That and sending out large numbers of resumes via monster.com) I was unemployed for 2 months when I got a call back from my former employer. I hadn't thought I would ever be working at my old employer again when I was laid off...same employer, different boss now. I guess the saying is true that God does work in mysterious ways. I am certainly less worried about the next time I am laid off in the future. I pray that God will provide the right opportunity for you. Steve Petach
