Dear friends,

Well, I got the call today and was laid off. My firm has taken some hits with lawyers leaving and a loss of some business lately and the powers that be have decided to cut the library staff down one. I ask for your prayers in finding a new job relatively soon for myself and for some of my co-workers who have also tasted the brunt of the falling economy.

In Christ,
mikey.

Mikey,

You will be in my prayers.... Hang in there!

(Better to be "in there" than just hanging!).

Although I have never met you, I will keep you in my prayers. May God lead you to a job that is even better than the one you had.

I am sorry to hear about your job situation. I know how it feels having been laid of my self on May 10, '02. I was worried and angry when I was laid off, but eventually came to realize that this might be a good time to move on career wise. Strange thing was that as time went on, I felt more at ease with myself than the previous 7 years at my former/ current employer. while I was unemployed, I did some serious soul searching (which is far from over)and a lot more praying than I had done in years before. (That and sending out large numbers of resumes via monster.com)

I was unemployed for 2 months when I got a call back from my former employer. I hadn't thought I would ever be working at my old employer again when I was laid off...same employer, different boss now.

I guess the saying is true that God does work in mysterious ways. I am certainly less worried about the next time I am laid off in the future.

I pray that God will provide the right opportunity for you.

May the Lord God grant you his gifts of peace and trust. May he help you in this time of change and transition, to know his will more perfectly.

Dear Mikey,

I pray that the Worker, the Carpenter of Nazareth, lead you to the work that awaits you.

May the Spirit lead you to find the time between the segments of work beneficial in the work that we all share that we usually find little time for.

Steve

Thanks for sharing all the scriptures Copt, for it is truly in placing our trust in Jesus and his Word, that we are set free and He is set free to move in and for us!
