Brothers and Sisters:

Please pray for my sister-in-law, Virginia DeStefano, a/k/a Sister Lucille. She is being treated for macular degeneration--the "wet" kind. She has been told that if she does not have treatment quickly she may go blind at any time. She has also been told that the treatment itself may cause her to go blind.

Holy Mother of God, by the gracious gift of your Son on the Cross, you became mother to all Christian believers. We remember that in your motherly care you caused many miracles to happen when believers called on you in connection with your miraculous icon in Kazan. Intercede with your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, for Sister Lucille who faces the possibility of blindness. May your powerful intercession, the hope of all of us earthly pilgrims, obtain for her complete healing of her physical eye degeneration and any spiritual blindness she might have. Ask your Son and our God to heal her of all eye problems. Obtain for her, too, forgiveness of all the sins she may have committed in the course of her life. Spread, Holy Mother, your Protecting Veil over Sister Lucille. AMEN.

I will add two western saints to that. May St. Lucy and St. Odilia pray for her healing.

Prayers that the treatment be beneficial to Sister Lucille's well-being and restorative of her vision, that she may continue in her role of service to God and have many healthy and holy years in that service.

Lord let this your servant Sister Lucille be completely whole in your eyes, and see with your eyes. May she serve you with joy all the days of her life.
