Brothers and sisters:

Glory be to Jesus Christ!! Glory be to Him forever and ever!!!

Whenever we hear of the need for vocations to the priesthood, we always dutifully pray for them. Often, however, we don't pray for one in our own family. I was reminded recently of the need to do that.

The subject of this thread, however, is a thanksgiving to God for the creation of a generous spirit in one of his servants who posts here. This humble man will celebrate his anniversary of priestly ordination by serving the Divine Liturgy on Friday, the Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos.

When he enters the altar, each of us who are baptized will be there mystically. At my spiritual director's reception of communion when he serves, I always silently say this prayer and I offer it here for Archimandrite Gregory, a truly humble and holy man tht I feel privileged to have been touched by on this forum:

May the Body and Blood of Our lord, Jesus Christ, preserve my brother, Gregory, in the priesthood unto life everlasting. And by Your Holy Body and Most Precious Blood, Lord Jesus, number him among the choir of the priestly celebrants in Your eternal and everlasting Kingdom when You call him to Yourself. AMEN.

Father Archimandrite Gregory, may the Lord in His rich mercy heal you of all infirmities of soul, mind, and body in this life and set you in His Kingdom--in a special place when He decides it is time--with all those who have so generously answered His call to serve us, your brothers and sisters, in the Holy Priesthood.

In Christ,

BOB

GOD GRANT HIM MANY YEARS!

May God in His mercy shine down upon Archimandite Gregory from the top of his head to the end of his toes, heal all the disorder in his body. But, above all, grant him Your peace Jesus, that together with You, he will be triumphant in this life or the one to come. Most Holy Theotokos pray for this your servant, that has been called to serve you Son so faithuflly, make him whole, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Dear Theophan and brother and sisters, +May the LORD JESUS bless all of you! I am continually overcome by your kindness and the depth of your spirituality here on this forum. I was for several years 'co-moderator' of the Canadian Greek Orthodox Forum and have written quite often on other Orthodox forums, but NEVER witnessed a warmer and more Christian place than this one---period! I an honored to be a guest here and feel more at home HERE than in many other cyber places where I SHOULD be able to feel most at home. This is truly a unique, loving and special place and God's presence is very obvious here!

I'm writing done all of your names and will carry them over my heart to the Holy Table on Friday morning when I celebrate the Holy Liturgy on the Anniversary of my Ordination. May the Most Holy Mother of God who's Entry we will celebrate bring you always closer to her Son, Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ!

Humbly in His Holy Name,
+Father Archimandrite Gregory, who asks for your holy prayers!

Lord, bless our brother, the Archimandrite Gregory, as he remembers and celebrates his ordination and begins another year of service to Your people. Deal with him as he does with others. May he feel Your love in the love that others return to him.

Long life, good health, and happiness to you, Fr. Gregory. Please accept my belated congratulations. The prayers were not.
