Please pray for me, as the past few days I've been struggling with a strong temptation involving someone from my "past" (pre-Catholic) life ... need I say more? Your prayers will be greatly appreciated!!

Yes, glad to pray. Two of us here prayed for you already, and plan to keep you on our prayer list until you tell us to stop, okay?

Dear Dolly,

Prayers for you!

And thank you for sticking up for me in the other thread!

It's always good for this Eastern Catholic to know that I at least have some Latin friends on this board . . . wink

As for the temptation, pray the Jesus Prayer with the Sign of the Cross in unbearable moments.

When the evil one sees he is being the cause of you invoking the Name of the Lord Jesus more, he will leave you alone.

Cold showers are good for almost everything too . . .

Dear Latin Trad,

It sounds like you could use a good, cold shower too!

Slava Isusu Christu!

Alex,

Being young again isn't what it's all cracked up to be. I'm sure Dolly and LT will attest to that.

And I will, too... wink

I will definitely add you to my prayers, Dolly. I've been there and know how strong that temptation is.

In Christ,
mikey.

Dear Mikey,

I can't fathom the energy levels our young people must have just to go on a simple date these days!

If I knew way back then what I know now, I really would have run off to a monastery!

LOL, Alex!! biggrin

St. Francis De Sales comments that the marriage vow is the only permanent vow in the Church that one takes without first going through a novitiate, "and if there were a novitiate of one year, how few would choose that state!"
