Dear Administrator and Colleagues in Christ,
Just as His Holiness asked me to pass on his Apostolic Blessing to all you, I would like to ask you to join me in thanking God for the great witness of His Holiness and his ministry, especially during these momentous World Youth Days in Toronto.
As His Holiness is now flying to Guatemala to canonize St Pedro de Betancur, Central America's first Saint and then later to Mexico City to canonize St Juan Diego and beatify two martyrs, let us surround his airplane with our prayers so that the Angels themselves carry him with all speed along his path in service to Christ and His Church.
May God protect His Holiness for the remaining days of his life, blessing and anointing him with every good.
May the Lord Jesus, who is so radiated through the person and ministry of His Holiness, bring us all together in a more intense love and determination to serve Him in whatever capacity our Saviour has chosen for us.
Alex

Among all the bishops of the Church, East and West, I've always prayed for the Pope of Rome, and will continue to do so, and thank God for the encouragement He has brought to people like me through WYD, even if we could not be there.
And thank you, Alex, for taking our greetings to him, and bringing his blessing to us with you (I feel something of what you're feeling post-WYD, but surely not as powerfully as you are experiencing it...God bring me to it).

Dear Catholicos, I guess I should have had the presence of mind to tell the Holy Father that I knew a Catholicos! That would surely have impressed him! Perhaps then the priest behind me wouldn't have given me the quick "shove-off!" Alex

I'm sure we would all like to join with your prayers Alex - preferably in person - but that's not possible in this cyber Parish [ pinching Sharon's description I believe ] May the Holy Father continue to inspire us all to follow the same road - albeit along parallel paths - that leads to the Father. May the Holy Father be spared many more years to serve the Church May Our Blessed Lady, Mary ever Virgin, Our Mother keep him safe in her care as She kept Her Son.

Dear Angela,
When the papal helicopter came down to the residence of the Sisters of St Joseph, people were out praying.
They went out last night to the gates of the monastery to pray and watch as well.
Some doubtless wanted to see the Pope and possibly have him bless them and touch them.
Others were wondering what the heck people were doing out there.
Cars slowed down as they went by.
But most prayed and continued to pray.
I met a monk with a white tunic and with a brown scapular - a Carmelite novice or something?
He had a large Rosary on his belt, but fingered a smaller set of beads.
How wonderful that the term "bead" itself means to "beg" or pray!
