I have come to the belief that the way the evil one attacks many of God's people is through the state of unemployment and the worries it brings with it.

At any given time many here have asked for the intention of employment. I offer this Roman Catholic prayer, which I believe to be most efficacious in its direct simplicity:

God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment.

I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment.

Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance.
Grant this through Christ, our Lord.

Amen

We also offer to your fatherly hands the toil and sacrifices associated with work, in union with your Son Jesus Christ, who redeemed human work from the yoke of sin and restored it to its original dignity. - Pope John Paul II

Alice,

Thank you for that prayer and I ask that all remember my intentions as I apply for a position this week in which I am very interested and which will offer some security that has been missing from my life for almost a year and a half now.

Many years,

Neil

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, hear the humble prayers of your servent Neil as he applies for this employment. Let him find supernatural favor with these people, and grant him the desire of his heart. Amen.

(Found out on EWTN this morning the word AMEN was first introduced by Pope ClementI)

Heartfelt prayers for suitable employment using the talents which God has given to our brother Neil, and for all those on this forum that are presently in the same position.

May all the saints that they hold dear, including their patron saints, St. Joseph the Worker and provider of the Holy Family, as well as our Blessed Lady Theotokos, intercede for their intentions before the awesome seat of her Son and our God.

Amen.

Neil,
I will keep your intentions in thought and prayer!
I would like to THANK all of you as well, for your kind prayers for my situation which I believe is resolving nicely. I don't want to speak too soon, but it looks like thigs are really coming along - I've taken a position with the same organization I worked for previously but in a different locale and the problems I had been considering leaving over have been resolved favorably.
