Just finished watching it. I really felt it was a great informative peice for those not aware of the Church in Ukraine.

We should all rejoice for the great minds we have in our Church, especially those showcased in the program.

My only complaint is that I did not see any pews anywhere eek

Other than that, it was great!

I saw the documentary about the Ukrainian Catholic Church too, last night. It was good ! It brought to life things I had only read about, especially the terrible martyrdom that the Ukrainian Catholic Church endured under the Communists. Thank God that EWTN showed this.

Just a Reminder -- If we want to see more coverage of the Eastern Catholic Churches on EWTN, it would probably help if we expressed our thanks for the coverage that EWTN already gives. That would include thanking EWTN for showing the good documentary last night about the Ukrainian Catholic Church. The email address for feedback to EWTN is viewer@ewtn.com .

Surely you jest! So many folks on here would be in hog heaven to not see any pews in the churches. Then we could really get down to floor level before our God. biggrin

To be able to do full prostrations other than the times of Great and Holy Lent when every one moves out of the pews would be awesome.

Yes I saw it. It's nice to see the Church on the revival back home.

I like the words of one seminarian they interviewed explaining the close connection between the church and the Ukrainian people, and how it suffered alongside them for so long.

I have been sitting in front of our TV since just before 9pm [ remember I'm in the UK ] trying to see the Prog on the Ukrainian Catholic University - and what have I seen so far - 2 totally different programmes frown

Argh

I do hope this will not happen on Wednesday morning when we are due to be able to see the " Emerging from the Catacombs " Programme

I feel an e-mail to EWTN coming on :p

I'm blazing mad mad mad mad

Have sat in front to TV - tuned to EWTN - got the Wednesday Papal Audience live and then set up the feed from EWTN on my pooter - that was OK too though about 22 secs behind.

OK so it's 10,30 - and what did I get on the TV - you got it - the repeat of the prog on the Sons of Divine Providence that was on on Monday evening mad

So what did I get on the pooter feed - Mexican New Martyrs if you please mad

Why can't EWTN stick to what they publish as the schedule ?

And why when I go to TV live on their Site do I get something different from the prog that is published and something different from the programme on my actual TV ??

Dear Anhelyna,

The EWTN European schedule for "Ukraine-Emerging from the Catacombs" reads as follows:

Sunday 3:00 London
4:00 Rome

Monday 21:00 London
22:00 Rome

Wednesday 10:30 London
11:30 Rome

However, no dates are given. confused I assume this schedule starts this Sunday Nov.27.

I sympathize with your frustration.

Oh I have had as yet no response to my e-mails to EWTN either mad mad

Dunno if you spotted on the Schedule but both programmes were being shown on Monday at 21 hours - so who knows what is going on.

As Myles said he had seen it at some dreadful hour of the morning I just hooked up and hoped for the best.

I'll try again next week and see what happens - but frankly I'm not holding my breath

It seems their schedule of special programming is different for those of us out west. Even accounting for the time difference, the program aired was different than the special programs schedule listed on their webpage. Seems the schedule is most accurate for east coast US when it comes to special programming. confused

Steve,
who missed it each time, oh well.

Seems the lucky one was Myles - who watched at 3 am over here. Sorry - but that I'm not willing to do - and frankly with my luck I'm not setting the DVD recorder.

I've still had no response from EWTN btw.

Don't they care ? There are lots of adverts here now so you can get free Satellite viewing by your Cable operator - BUT if they don't stick to their published schedules they are not going to get any Viewers.

My thanks to John for the viewer feedback e-mail address at EWTN - I've just sent them an unmirthful message suggesting that they should apologize, rebroadcast the two programs at times accurately and thoroughly announced in advance, and thereafter stick to their schedule.

Meanwhile, those of us who would like programs on the Eastern Churches seem to be faced with three possibilities:

a) no such programs

b) occasionally short nods in our direction

c) programs announced but then not shown, with no explanation.

And to think some people believe that the EASTERN Churches are mystifying!

Dear Incognitus

Your was just unmirthful - wow.

Mine were almost of the "light the blue touch paper and stand back" :p
I am now into the family tradition of annoyed e-mails - they slowly progress through the Great Mysteries of the Universe [ There are no humans] to the final one that goes to the "Executors of the Late Managing Director of ....... "[ well obviously he has died at his desk and no one has noticed his absence biggrin ]

At some point we usually get a response - actually sending these by fax is better , as some wee office girl usually gets them and gets a BIG kick out of delivering them and passing on to all her mates at Coffee Breaks about these odd folk who obviously expect replies biggrin biggrin

I'll keep you posted as to what happens
