Does anyone know if the Metropolitan New York Byzantine Choir is still a group? I have a recording (would you believe, a record!) of slavonic folk songs from 1980. I never got around to making a cassette copy of it and it's a bit scratched. I'd love to get a freshened up copy. Help anyone?

Mrs. H, Haven't heard a reference made to this group in ... probably 2 decades. I did a web search and came up with nothing. You might try some of the sites that offer out-of-play music. Anna Seaberg has a pretty thorough listing of links to them at Web Sources for Out-of-Print Sound Recordings [ aseaberg.home.mindspring.com] . Most will search without fee or obligation. Good luck. Thanks, I've done a lot of online searching too with no luck. And I check ebay too! I was hoping somebody had a copy they'd be willing to copy for me! We have a slavic performing group out of the BCC in Tucson and we want to perform some of the songs on this album. Prof. Zihal attends my mom's church and I guess I'll have to contact him. Maybe he still has a couple copies stashed in the attic!
