Most of the music I hear on the car stereo is trash. I did buy Home by the Corrs which is a great mix of Gaelic and Soft Rock. This CD will appeal to anyone between 18-80.

It is tough to beat three female Irish vocalists who can sing modern soft rock as well as the old Irish folk songs. Puts the Cranberries to shame.

I can't think of a decent hip-hop CD I've heard in a long time. They are all starting to sound the same.

How about Boiled in Lead or Seven Nations? Ramones meet the Chieftains.

I listen to everything from Russian liturgical music to metal. :-)

Let's see, "Reise, Reise"-- the new Rammstein album that came out last year is really good if you like industrial metal songs growled in German. :-)

If you like Irish folk music, ever heard Mary Black? I like her... her sister Francis Black is good too... "The Sky Road" brings tears to my eyes.

If you like medieval English music, Medieaval Baebes' new album "Mirabilis" is great.

Other than that, I'm listening mainly to Rachmaninov's Vespers and to 1980's pop...

While you'll get no argument from me about how hot the ladies of the Corrs are, I really have trouble listening to them.

might I recommend some Saw Doctors. Maybe the best band to ever come out of Ireland (while retaining a gaelic flavor).

Let's see....
right now I'm waxing nostaglic and listening to early Genesis(all the way back to Peter Gabriel), but in the past few weeks it's been Medieval Babes, Blackmore's Night, Solas, Maire Brennan, Silly Wizard, anything either Celtic or Renaissance/Medieval.

For anyone into reggae, Matisyahu is really awesome. He's a convert to Hasidism, who was really into reggae before his conversion. His lyrics are wonderful and his videos are something differnt, to say the least. And best of all, my kids like him( considering some of the garbage my teens listen to, this is a blessing).

I think Maire Brennan is one of the top 5 female vocalists in the world. Mary Black is very good also.

Hi Vie! Glory to Jesus Christ!

I love Mediaeval Baebes. Do you have their "Mirabilis" album?

Also love Genesis, though I don't think I've heard their pre-Phil Collins stuff. "No Reply At All" is a great song.

Great to see you again... make sure you keep in touch!

Karen
