Dear friends,

As I wrap up my dissertation, I am having difficulty locating three articles that I need. I have actually located these articles on web pages, but my director would like for me to find them in print medium. I have a deadline of Feb. 14 that I need to meet, and no matter how hard I look, I can't find printed versions of these articles anywhere.

As you are some of the most erudite people around when it comes to Eastern Christianity, your help would be greatly appreciated.

1. "One Single Source: An Orthodox response to the Clarification on the Filioque." by Ioannis Zizioulas, Metropolitan of Pergamon

http://praiseofglory.com/zizioulis.htm

2. "Letter to the Ecumenical Patriarch from Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow." Dated September 18, 2002.

See the very end of this link:
http://www.orthodoxdetroit.com/orthodoxunity.htm

3. Finally, I need a quote from this 1999 interview with the Ecumenical Patriarch, in which he specifically says the following:

"...even when nationalism invokes Christianity as a means to justify its end, this does not make it any less a heresy."

It's this quote that I need, no matter where or in what form it is printed, provided that it is in English. See the following link:

Your help with this is most graciously appreciated, and sorely needed. Please respond to me directly at dragani@east2west.org.

Much thanks,
Anthony

Anthony -

I guess you would like this passed along! (j/k)

I will forward your request on to my spiritual father. He may know of a way to locate these...

Best wishes to you as you complete your dissertation! I am currently trying to wrap up my thesis, which is due in April.

Peace and all good -

Uhh... it looks like a computer glitch of some sort posted my message five time too many. It won't let me erase the extras. Maybe the moderator can fix it?

Dear friends,

Alas, the week is half-over and I'm still not have any luck with any of the three articles. frown Thanks to all of you who have made an attempt, however.

If you could keep looking, I would be most grateful. Do any of you have a complete set of Eastern Churches Journal at your disposal? Do you know if any of these articles have appeared there?

I just received a message from my spiritual father and he recommended that you contact the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese or Holy Cross Seminary. I don't know if these are venues you have already tried, but I hope that is helpful.

Anthony,

The article "One Single Source: An Orthodox response to the Clarification on the Filioque." by Metropolitan Ioannis is also on the site of the Orthodox Research Institute. You might e-mail them at

info@orthodoxresearchinstitute.org

and ask if they have a print citation to same. I suspect they will as their site states

Quote
All articles are copyright the original author/publication unless otherwise noted. Permission to reproduce these articles should be requested from the appropriate author/publication
I checked the article's properties and the document source code. thinking that info on the origin might be embedded in one or the other, but no luck.

Neil
