link at bottom.... But here it gets more interesting. It is the event that may have spawned the rumors. For during breakfast a local priest, Monsignor Vincent Wolf of Holy Family Church, gave an envelope to catering manager Peter Sacu to bring to the president. In the envelope was a note that read: "We, the school children, the nuns and priests of Holy Family Church in Fort Worth, are happy to offer one thousand Masses for the spiritual and temporal welfare of you and your family, and to show our love and devotion to the President of the United States." Were these nuns and these Masses what were later confused with the president actually attending one? Or could it be that Kennedy -- who was known to have made eye contact with Monsignor Wolf and nodded his thanks -- somehow arranged for the priest to hear his Confession in the presidential suite immediately afterwards? From 9:55 to 10:40 a.m., Kennedy and his wife had quiet time waiting to go to the airport for the quick hop to Dallas. During that period Kennedy made at least one phone call and met for some length of time in his suite with aide Ken O'Donnell. There are no records of a priest slipping into the room, although neither can such be ruled out of the realm of possibility. During the breakfast, Kennedy had made a point of showing Jackie the note from Monsignor Wolf. She too had looked down the table and smiled her thanks to the priest. Hi Rose...
Well, don't know about that BUT, I've been told by several different Byzantine priests that it was a Byzantine priest that gave Kennedy the "Last Rites". I've been told that this occured after at the White House that no one had thought to do this earlier.
Kinda interesting huh...

Two Roman Catholic priests came to Parkland Hospital in Dallas after the president was brought there after being shot. One of them, Father Oscar Huber, administered last rites to President Kennedy was given last rites. Father Huber was one of the earliest sources to many journalists on the scene. I interviewed Dan Rather about this very subject a couple weeks ago and one of the two priests, he wasn't sure which, was one of his sources on the president's death before it was officially announced. Last rites were definitely administered at the hospital in Dallas. David Lipton's book, "Best Evidence," affirmed this also. From that point on, at least "officially," the President's body was in a closed wooden casket until arriving at Bethesda Naval Medical Center for the autopsy.
Careful research shows that the body actually went from Dallas Hospital to Andrews AFB in MD on board Air Force One. From there it secretly went in a metal casket, by helicopter not ambulance, to Walter Reed Army Hospital, (where many speculate that it was altered) and then on to Bethesda Naval Center (where it was "officially" autopsied, the head and brain having having been previously sectioned.) None of the above is really speculation, but buried in the official documents, news reports, and testimonies of the witnesses.
