An interesting thought. I wonder if it will be very popular?

Years ago I edited a small Catholic countercultural magazine, which meant, among other things, that a lot of odd people contacted me, thinking for some reason we were kindred spirits.
Among the oddest was a small group of Catholic nudists in Vermont [surely a chilly place for such a venture]. They sent me literature with lots of photos of them, nude except for their scapulars [!} eek
They invited me up for a visit, but I declined...

Icono.. I'm sure their nudist view was carried out with the spirit of vatican II, so therefore it was alright for them to do so. eek

This puts a whole new meaning to the idea of "naked faith."

Or else this group began baring its soul and didn't know when to stop . . .

I would also imagine that this is a situation where getting one's back up against the wall simply wouldn't help things . . .

Actually [brace yourself] they were pretty traditional, lay Carmelites if I recall.
Their error was the same one as the medieval Adamists: they held that baptism returned our souls to Edenic innocence. We may be redeemed but we sure ain't innocent.
Though, echoing Incognitus' point, I assure you from what I saw in their literature that I can look at around 98% of naked human beings with nary a lustful thought...but that 2%! eek

Quick question: could Daniel's traditional lay Carmelites supply icon-prints of Saint Barsonuphius the Nude?

Actually, the part of the article I enjoyed most was that this guy, who purports to be promoting "wholesome" nudity, was not wholesome enough for the American Association for Nude Recreation! Guess they are a pretty straight-laced group (when they're not unlaced ... wink

Some of us are sure that God has a sense of humor. That comes from the bulges in all the wrong places and all the other mis-matched parts with which He has put us together. wink Here's a little letter I found that I've had a lot of fun with. Format it on your computer and send it to a friend in the new year. biggrin

Mr. B. P. Jones

Altoona, PA

Dear Mr. Jones:

We wish to thank you for your recent letter and photographs, which we received. However, we will not be able to use your body in our centerfold.

On a scale of 0 to 10, your body was rated 2. The rating was done by a panel of women ranging in age from 65 to 75. We tried to have our panel of women in the 19 to 30 year old age bracket rate you, but we could not get them to stop laughing long enough.

Should the taste of American women ever change so drastically that they would want you in the centerfold, you will be notified by this office. In the meantime, dont call us. Well call you.

Sympathetically,

Amanda Smith, Editor
