Hi there!
I find your posted messages interesting. I am interested in the Eastern rite for it's beauty and expression. Does anyone know about the transalpine redemptorists working in the Ukraine? Tried to ask questions from one of the group but he wasn't very open. So I'm still in the dark about their work in the Ukraine and their interest therin.

They are affiliated with the SSPX.
I get the impression that their presence has been divisive in Ukraine. Major-Archbishop Lubomyr Husar has had to threaten excommunication to some of his priests over trafficking with this group.
It seems that the Transalpine Redemptorists are opportunistically focusing upon some parish communities attachments to classic latinizations. This is at the core of their presence in eastern Europe (apparently).

Yes I agree with Michael's comments above, their Number one man Fr Michael Mary (aka Gregory Sim formerly of NZ & ex CSsR)was here some weeks ago. They are poaching among the Maronites as well as the Ukrainians. They are the ones apprently who have been financing a schismatic group in western Ukraine, whose leader is thought to have been ordained a bishop by the SSPX. This fr Michael is often noted to be lurking on this site. They are deeply embeded with schismatics themselves and have no standing inside the Cathlic Church. Best avoid the Trans-reds nothing but trouble.
