This message is for my Eastern Catholic friends,

"Thanksgiving" is the most celebrated holiday in my household. This is partly due to the fact that my entire family on my mothers side attends (an extended Latin American family mind you). We always expect a large turnout. Plenty of good food and all that. wink Anyhow, one of the traditions we keep is an invocation prayer of Thanksgiving given by a different person each year.

This year it's my turn smirk I would like to know of any traditional Eastern Catholic prayers I can preface my short speech with.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

God Bless

Dear ProCatholico,

I would suggest that you might want to print out this PDF file. It is from a family resource put out by my department. If you go to page 3 of the file you will find starting their something for Thanksgiving. I hope that this is useful.

Shlomo ProCatholico,

Here is a prayer that we use. Leader = black, All = Red

PRAYER BEFORE A MEAL

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit now and forever.

Amen

O Lord God may your plenty, blessing, and properity come down upon this meal prepared by your worshippers, and bestow upon those who parrtake of it the abundance of your favors.

Amen

THANKSGIVING AFTER A MEAL

May food abound and never fail; may it remain plentiful, through the prayers of Our Lord's Mother, and the prayers of the rightreous and just, who pleased the Lord with their deeds.

O Lord, you are a good God, and we praise and thank you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen

This prayer helps to bring our families together.

Poosh BaShlomo,
Yuhannon
