I was wondering if anyone could recommend some Orthodox books on marriage. I've found several at SVS Press, Conciliar Press, etc. but I was wondering if there are any particular titles that people have read and would like to share a brief opinion, review? Thanks, peace in Christ,

Joe, if you can read Russian, the MP has a wonderful book on Orthodox Marriage, from dating, through planning the wedding, the crowning and wedding services, and living as an Orthodox husband and wife. It is coffee table sized and over 2500 pages. I would be more than glad to pick you one up if it would help.

I very much enjoyed John Chryssavgis's "Love Sexuality and the Sacrament of Marriage", in part because the majority of the text is full of patristic teaching.

Another excellent text is David ford's "Women and Men in the Early Church: The Full Views of St. John Chrysostom". The text covers quite a bit on Chrysostom's theology of marriage and family life.

Hope that helps!
