Hi Everybody,

It's that time of year again. If you are American, please consider helping a wounded vet this Christmas. As you are sending out your Christmas cards, please consider sending one or two cards to wounded vets who are recovering in our nation's military hospitals.

Please also consider including a phone card inside your Christmas card. The U.S. government does not pay for vets' long distance telephone calls. A phone card would enable a wounded vet to call home for the holidays. The card can be for any length, but a 1/2 hour is a nice minimum.

If you choose to do this, please remember to make your Christmas card "nondenominational" since vets come from a variety of religious backgrounds.

Send your Christmas card and phone card to the following addresses, one for Army vets and one for Marine vets.

you should be commended for your thoughtfulness, bro. my father is a Marine combat veteran (Korea). I wish I could send a phone card, but being on disability precludes a lot of things. however, I will send a card. it's an unspeakable shame that wounded service persons are not afforded the gracious courtesy of a free phone call.I will say nothing further on that.

I salute your dad and all vets.

I have had family in Iraq, and at least one of them is going to be redeployed there soon. Thank God, no one in my family has been wounded. But, the nephew of a friend had his guts shot up by a roadside mine in Iraq. He shouldn't be alive, but prayer + modern medicine have kept him going. Another miracle: he wasn't rendered sterile by the explosion. Praise God: he and his wife just had another baby. However, he still needs to use a colonoscopy bag, and he still is getting therapy over 2 years after the attack. And, there were guys who were in *worse* shape at Walter Reed Medical Center. Lost limbs. Bad burns. Etc.

Amidst all that pain and life-changing trauma, a phone card to call family and friends goes a long, Long, LONG way to making the challenges bearable.
