I am looking for an affordable source for icons to be made available in a church gift shop, for purchase for home use. These icons would not be individually hand-written originals, but would be copies or copies that have been embellished. They could also be framed. It would better for the source to be local to Phoenix, but what is more important is a reliable, affordable source to regularly do business with.
Also, I am looking for a source for paper icons, suitable for mounting, also for home use.
Anyone here have some leads?

Jim, other than the "Come Bless the Lord" icon packet available from God With Us Publications, the only other paper icons I'm aware of are the 5x8 flashcards available from the OCEC. You might want to try Rhonda at St. Joseph's School for Boys Bookstore. Website is: http://www.marketworks.com/storefro...;sfid=78319&c=701647&i=164994706Good luck! Diane

I have found a source in St. Vladimir's Seminary bookstore, but their small paper icons are rather limited- 14 in all, I think- 50 cents apiece. Flashcards may be too thick to mount effectively. I'll check out the website you offered, Diane. Thanks!

Can you mount the paper Icons that come on the front cover of Byzantine Catholic Church Bulletins? These are readily available in a wide variety of Icons. A different Icon each week.

InCogNeat3, thanks for the tip on the church bulletins. Forgot about those. Trouble is, the ones I've had, have print inside that slightly bleeds through. Guess I could try to get a couple at church before they go to the printer, and see what happens. Not sure how far in advance their stock goes, for that matter.
The St. Joseph's School Mrs. H suggested is willing to provide unlaminated ones from their inventory for 25 cents each, either on cardstock or paper. For me, paper is better for making by hand. I'm going to talk to them tomorrow.

Jim, you could make tiny icons out of prayer cards, including those that you pick up at funerals. Also, the icons on our calendars.
