Hello folks,
This past Sunday, the priest at the Orthodox Church gave a sermon about the Feast of St. John the Forerunner...he talked about the Icon that was on the Iconostasis...
And he remarked something about the Icon that really got me listening and got really amazed.
He said that there's a tree near St. John and it has an ax beside it. The priest explained that the mission of St. John was to tell people to Repent...Repent...Repent...etc.
Well..the point was that if people don't repent...then the tree would have to be cut down for Christ to be crucified on.
What a powerful image! Down below is a link of an Icon that I found on the internet so you could see what I was talking about. This icon wasn't at the Church where I was at. It was a random Icon I found when I googled for it.
