What happened to Mother Angelica? Is she still affiliated with EWTN? Are the American bishops going to take over EWTN?

Is it me or I read the document and just didn't see the part where she died?
I have respect for EWTN, I have seen some of their programmes on the Internet.
I specialy enjoyed a programme called "A Byzantine Catholic Christmas" it described how the Ruthenians in the USA have adapted the Compline and Vespers tradition, as it's done in Europe.
Some poster told me how to get the tape one day but I couldn't find the post anymore.

I'm sorry! I was completely wrong. I remembered reading about her not working at EWTN because of her health, googled to see if she had died, saw the first two google excerpts: Many Catholics idolize Mother Angelica as a media mogul of faith, .... Sister Mary David died in 1982 at age 83, and her body rests in the crypt of the ...
Eventually she accepted the situation, even joining her daughters monastery in Alabama, where she died known as Sister Mary David. Mother Angelica and her ... So I shrugged and considered myself largely out of the loop and reported what I thought I had read. I was totally wrong. With prayers for the health and well-being of Mother Angelica, may God grant her many years of peace, health, and happiness!

Dear Anna, I believe Mother Angelika can still be seen saying the rosary at a certain time on EWTN. What she was able to do was amazing. I had to laugh once, when she said she was given an IQ test in school. She laughed when seeing the test and thought 'how stupid.' "Well", she said: "I turned out to be the stupid one. My IQ was 90". Mother Angelika was able to achieve miraculous things, and is certainly a saint. God Bless, Zenovia

I have never seen the program nor do I know that much about her. I do know, however, that she did have a miraculous healing of her walking condition some years ago while reciting the Rosary and that she also suffered a serious stroke but as regards these things I don't know how many years ago .. maybe just a few? .. Someone much more conversant than I with her and the program can point you in the right direction ...

Mother Angelika has had many miraculous events in her life. It seems that someone or some 'thing' was out to get her when she was young, because her mother suddenly had the feeling that her daughter was going to die. She started praying and praying for her daughter not to die. That same day, when the young girl was crossing the street, a truck started coming towards her. People began to scream, for there was no way that she could possibly get out of the way. Suddenly and miraculously she found herself lifted up and on the side walk. Once, when taking her to a 'seer', the woman told her mother that she will someday do great things for the Church. She has! Probably saved it from the modernism that was so prevalent after Vatican II. One time, when I believe she was outside a church in South America, the statue of the child Jesus came to life and began to talk to her. He told her that He wanted a church built for him. She managed that, in the same way she did a TV network that is being carried throughout the world. Another time, a person knowledgable about television asked her what the running costs were, and what her budget was, etc., etc. She answered that she didn't know. He was shocked. She carried everything on faith, and sometimes the costs she was faced with were in the millions. But she succeeded. She is certainly a saint! God Bless, Zenovia

But she succeeded. She is certainly a saint! "Cardinal" Roger Mahoney of LA Diocese might not agree with that statement. Oh well...

What happened to Mother Angelica? EDDIE: You may get the latest report on Mother Angelica each week at the EWTN website. http://www.ewtn.com Is she still affiliated with EWTN? Are the American bishops going to take over EWTN? It's my understanding that she resigned from the board of EWTN so that the corporation could not be taken over now or later by the American bishops. Her religious order is supposedly supported by EWTN and its ministries, but there is a legal separation for the protection of the EWTN corporation. It's interesting that the American bishops tried to start their own broadcasting system some years ago to try to provide EWTN with competition--and a more "liberal" bent. And it failed miserably because there was no interest in its programming and they couldn't convince the faithful to support it in the same way they supported Mother Angelica. "Unless the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who build it." BOB

Mother Angelica is still on EWTN-TV (simulcast on Internet) every Tuesday at 8 p.m. for an hour on "Mother Angelica Live Classics."
She can also be heard and seen everyday at 9:30 p.m. praying the Rosary with the Nuns of OLAM.
The one who died 25 years or so ago was Mother Angelica's own birth mother, Sr. Mary David, who joined her at the monastery after she was widowed as one of the first nuns of Mother Angelica's Order.

Mother is hanging in there for her health and age. They apparently have been able to 'retrain' the part of her brain that deals with speach. I know they were using some new techniques that helped the brain to bypass the damage area - I know I am not explaining it very well, but that is the best I can do.
On Saturday mornings(I think Sat.) you can catch her praying a devotion/novena type of prayer to the Archangels. It is wonderful! Also, such a blessing to hear her speaking again. And it is a beautiful prayer.
