I wonder if these particular Coassacks are Old-Ritualists. Many Cossacks were and are.
Putin for Tsar? Er - no, thanks. Anyway, the Sovereign should be above party politics. And no, I've no particular candidate in mind.
Cossacks who don't drink alcohol? Now there's something which definitely deserves to be encouraged.
Historically, by the way, the Cossacks are not a univocal phenomenon. Some groups of Cossacks are strongly Ukrainian, others are strongly Russian. The origins are to a degree lost in the midst of time, although there does seem to be a connection with the great rivers of old Rus'.
This particular group of Coassacks may lead to further interesting developments. Does anyone know of anything similar in present-day Ukraine?

Ahhhh, you see it's all coming together. The Byzantine Village is not only a place of worship and true Catholicity, but we can support ourselves by selling pirohi, nut rolls and other hand made items--including saddles! And, of course, we all dress in ethnic costumes. Sort of a Plymouth Plantation--but for read and with God in mind, not making a buck.
