Can anyone recommend a source of information on icons and iconography? I have written/painted one and the second will not be for a few months, but I'm a reader/researcher by nature and need to feel more grounded before working on the second.
I know nothing except that I completed the Archangel Michael, Greek style in acrylics and that Archangel Gabriel is next. I think he's in the same style and medium (different teacher and situation). I know there's a preferred order, but don't know beyond Gabriel.

I found the book by Jim Forest Praying with Icons a pretty good introduction to icons, at least for a beginner like me. I'm sure that you will receive many excellent suggestions from others more knowledgeable! http://www.amazon.com/Praying-Icons-Jim-Forest/dp/1570751129Andrea

Thanks for the book referrals.
The class is with Deb Korkula.
I'm not sure I can take the week off for the Prosopon school.
