After 6 days and 2500 miles, the boys and I arrived safely in Tucson, with nothing worse to show for it than sore butts and one speeding ticket. shocked

  • Saying goodbye to my friends in Maryland was brutally painful. I thank God that my life has been blessed with such a loving network of people.
  • The loading of the van went very smoothly, and I was able to get everything done that needed doing. I thank God for the untiring hands that helped me pack, that prepared food for our travels, that handed me tissues as I cried.
  • The drive West was great: Beautiful weather, lovely scenery (except for the Texas panhandle, of course grin), and boys as well behaved as one could expect under the circumstances. I thank God for the beauty of this country, for the friends I visited along the way, for giving me the necessary endurance, and for keeping us safe on the road.
  • My sister's endoscopy went very well. The doctors saw nothing to be concerned about; now we wait for the biopsy results to confirm that the cancer has not returned. I thank God for all the prayers (and pray-ers) that have wrought this miracle of her survival against the odds.
  • My mother's second dose of chemotherapy was dramatically different from her first, no pain, no discomfort. I thank God for the skilled hands that noted the problems she had had with her first dose and made adjustments and preparations to avoid those problems with her second dose.
  • My boys and I are here in Tucson with my family. I thank God for the love and strength and faith that binds us together.

And I thank God for each of you and for all your prayers and good wishes.

Thanks be to God for your safe arrival in Tucson!

Your strength and perseverance, under the circumstances, are admirable.

O Lord, You who steadied the hand of Peter as he began to sink on the stormy sea, if you are with Penthaetria, no one is against her. Grant to Penthaetria the shield of faith and the mighty armor of the Holy Spirit to protect her and her sons and guide them to do Your will. The future she put into Your hands, O Lord, and will follow You to a life deeper in Christ. Amen
