Please pray for the soul of my departed father-in-law, Father Andor Rakaczki, who died suddenly this morning. Father Andor was a priest in the Eparchy of Passaic, serving St. Nicholas of Myra in White Plains/Yonkers and Holy Cross in Manhattan. He leaves behind his wife, three children, and three grandchildren. Please also pray for them.

May his memory be eternal! Vichnaja jemu pamjat!

In Christ,
Kenneth Alexo, Jr. (Theophilos)

May the memory of the Priest, Father Andor be eternal and may he be forgiven all his sins.

May our blessed Theotokos comfort and console Kenneth, his children, his wife, and his wife's family at this difficult time!

Lord have mercy!

In Christ,
Alice

P.S. I pass by his church in White Plains almost every day, and I always love passing the beautiful Byzantine crucifix which looks out onto the road. Needless to say, I always cross myself when I pass it.

Prayers for his family and his parish families at this time of great and very sudden loss. May they find the comfort that only Christ, the Physician of Souls and Bodies, can provide.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

On behalf of the rest of Fr. Andor's family, I want to thank all of you for your prayers.

Fr. Andor will lie in state in the White Plains church today, 7-9 pm, and tomorrow, 3-8 pm. A parastas will be served on both nights at 7:30 pm, with the funeral liturgy on Wednesday morning at 10:30 am, also at St. Nicholas of Myra. Here is Fr. Andor's obituary [legacy.com]:

Thank you, again, for your prayers. May God grant to his servant, the priest Andor, blessed repose and eternal memory.

In Christ,
Ken Alexo

With ecstasy are we inflamed if we but hear that there is light eternal yonder; that there is Paradise, wherein every soul of Righteous Ones rejoiceth. Let us all, also, enter into Christ, that all we may cry aloud thus unto God: Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

I am very saddened by this. When my family and I still lived in NJ, we had a good amount of contact with Fr. Andor, especially because of our links to the Basilian monastery in Matawan, N.J. His uncle, the priest-monk Fr. Basil Rakaczky,OSBM, is attached to that monastery, but serves as Pastor of St. Michael's Hungarian Greek Catholic Church in Perth Amboy. Fr. Andor had encouraged me to pursue formation for the Diaconate. My initial Spiritual Director was Fr. Joseph Erdei, OSBM, the superior of that monastery. Fr. Andor was well-educated (with advanced degrees-I believe he had a PhD). He was also very approachable, very charitable, and very serious about his priesthood. I'm befuddled as to why God would take him now (as I am sure we all are), but I pray for the happy repose of his soul.
Eternal Memory!

Memory Eternal!

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai
