Hi,
I don't really post that much, but would sure appreciate your prayers.
For maybe five years now, I've been praying for my wife, who grew up an Italian "cultural Catholic," to practice the faith. A couple of years ago, I mostly gave up on "human" strategies to win her (bribes, cajoling, reasoning, invitations, etcetera) that weren't working and concentrated on prayer and sacrifice.
Yesterday, she asked me if we could go to church together next week, because "it'd be good for me." Yipes! And I'd thought all was lost.
So first, thanks and glory to God for this progress, and thanks to the Blessed Mother, and Sts. Monica, Augustine, and Jude, whose ears I've bent over-and-over in requesting this intercession.
Secondly, as this first success is a sign to redouble my efforts, I would be deeply grateful if you would join me in praying for continued victory.
Glory to Christ, Have a happy Thanksgiving, With much gratitude for your prayer, - Booth

Dear Booth,
We rejoice with you in the answer to this spiritual prayer for your wife. Glory to God!
May your visit to church with her reap many spiritual blessings for her, which, hopefully and prayerfully, by the grace of God, will grow.
Continued prayers for her and for you.
May God bless you for this great love you have for her.
In the Greek Orthodox tradition it is often said that marriage is for the mutual salvation of the couple...it is nice to see that in practice!
In Christ, Alice

Dear Booth,
You should get yourself and your wife a "Cincture of Sts Monica and Augustine."
St Monica had a vision of the Mother of God (of Consolation) who recommended a black cincture to wear as her belt. Monica received many blessings for so doing (I've noticed that many woven belts or "poyas" that Old Rite believers wear have black tassels - wonder if this is the origin of that).
The Augustinians wear the black belt to commemorate this and have a separate Archconfraternity of the Cincture of Our Lady of Consolation and Sts. Monica and Augustine (and Nicholas of Tolentino).
Blessings,
Alex

Almighty and merciful God, I most humbly and heartily thank Your divine majesty for Your loving kindness and tender mercies, that You have heard Booth's humble prayer for his wife desiring to return to You Jesus, in your Church, and graciously granted him deliverance from his trouble and misery. I pray to you to continue granting Your helping grace, that together, they may lead a life pleasing to You, that they may continually offer to You a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
