Father, Bless!
Thank you for this information!
Is there an English language Akathist to Our Lady of Perpetual Help online?
Do you have it for sale?

Dear Father Dmytro,
Father, bless.
I hope you can answer a few questions that have been on my mind as of late.
The parish and parochial school I attended when I was growing up was staffed by the Redemptorists(Roman-rite). It is from them that I developed a special love and devotion to the Theotokos under the title of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, who of course is the patroness of the Redemptorist Order. The feast day of OLPH is June 27th. 1) Did the Byzantine Redemptorists compose special tropar and kondak prayers for the feast of OLPH on June 27th?
June 27th also is now the feast day of the Ukrainian Catholic martyrs-four of whom were Redemptorists!
2)Do the Byzantine Redemptorists simply celebrate both feast days now on the same day?
3)Do you know if the Roman-rite Redemptorists have added the feast of the Ukrainian martyrs to their liturgical calendar for June 27th, or have they placed it on another date, due to June 27th being the feast of OLPH?
4) There of course is another Byzantine Redemptorist who is a saint-Blessed Dominick Trcha. On what date do the Byzantine Redemptorists celebrate his feast?
God bless you, Father!
Sincerely, Griego catolico

Dear Chtec and Griego,
Yes, Fr. Michael Schudlo, C.Ss.R. (+memory eternal!) translated it into Ukrainian and English for an edition of "Redeemer's Voice" way back when.
There is a Catholic and an Orthodox version as well.
The Orthodox version is to the Mother of God of the Passion or "Strasnaya" (aka Our Lady of Perpetual Help) and this akathist is at: akafist.narod.ru under the Akathists to the Mother of God (Slavonic).
The feast of the icon of the Mother of God of the Passion in the Orthodox East is May 13 OC (26 NC) I believe.
I think it would be great if Fr. Dmytro could provide an online English version of this Akathist as we ALL have a great devotion to OLPH!
(You are great, Father Dmytro!!)
As for the question of the inclusion of the Byzantine Redemptorist martyrs in the Roman calendar - all I know is that I once wrote to the website of the Canadian Catholics Bishops and the webmaster there agreed to include the martyrs beatified by the Pope when he was in Ukraine.
The link was there for a time and now it is gone.
I've written to them to ask why, but no response yet, and I don't think I'll be getting one.
This is nonsense as Blessed Basil Velichkovsky is a Martyr-Saint on Canadian soil and Blessed Nikita Budka was the first Byzantine Catholic Bishop in North America as well!
Perhaps Fr. Dmytro could shed some light on all this!
Alex
