Here we are again nearly at house blessing time, and although we had our house blessed last year I think it was very abbreviated service (for several reasons it would be uncharitable to discuss). So I'm still just as much in the dark about the service as I was, and our new pastor does sing the blessings and I am wondering could someone point me to where to find the order of the service so we don't appear to be complete and utter dolts when Father arrives at our door? I have the icon corner, candles, cross etc. but as for the responses and such I am clueless. Help!

Sieglinde Dear Sieglinde, The Theophany House Blessing is a brief service. It often takes longer to sprinkle each room of the house with Theophany Water than to do the rest of the service proper. Here is a link for a pretty full version of the Theophany House Blessing: http://networks-now.net/litresswraoc/Documents/TheophanyHouseBlessing.PDFHave a blessed Feast!
