Friday, November 28, 2003 will be the Grand Opening of The Pilgrim's Inn, a new Orthodox Bookstore in downtown Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

(Stroudsburg is pretty centrally located: approximately an hour from both Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and the Lehigh Valley, and about two hours from both Philadelphia and New York City.)

For more information, check out the following site:
http://www.holytrinitypoconos.org/pilgrim.html

Everyone in the surrounding areas is invited to stop by, either for the Grand Opening or anytime once the bookstore begins to keep regular hours.

Dave,

Will make it a point to stop when I pass thru Stroudsburg on my next trip down to pick up my daughter at Moravian. Will any of your icons be featured/available there?

Neil

Please stop in! You may also want to visit my church, Holy Trinity in Stroudsburg. The website is above. Our previous priest was also named Neal and was Irish. wink

A couple of my icons MAY be featured there, but I still have to discuss terms with the manager and my priest. I was asked, but right now I am busy with school and am starting a new part time job tomorrow, so I don't know how much time I'll be able to devote to this. So we'll see. smile

I also forgot to mention that the photos on the site are only a partial view of the stock as of last week. We will have many more items and books available, as well as soaps and jams made at a local women's monastery.

To those who are of a Carpatho Russian background, there are some beautiful carved wooden Icons from that part of the world available. or at least there were when I bought my two a few years back during a pilgrimage to St Tikhon's.

I hope they have online shopping, I spotted another prayer book to add to my collection in the second photo, pretty hard to drive there from So Cal.

There are no plans for online shopping at this time. Right now the main focus is on the store and establishing a presence in downtown Stroudsburg. Many of the items we will carry are probably already available online; however, only time will tell what the future will bring. smile

Just a reminder that the grand opening of the Pilgrim's Inn is tomorrow, November 28. It will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It will also be open this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There is a plethora of icons, books and religious items, even jams and soaps made by a local women's monastery. If you find yourself traveling through Stroudsburg on Route 80, pop in! smile
