Online forums are funny things, you can get to know people hundreds to thousand miles away and develop a good dialog with them. I participate in several online communities, and in one of them responded harshly and controversially to a post I found to be offensive. This sparked a massive argument that snowballed into such a ruckus that one member left the forums and said that they were tired of Catholicism or rather "to hell with being Catholic" . This member and I had similar viewpoints on the issue I raised, so we were not opposed to each other, rather it was others who made her feel slighted much like I felt. However in looking back I think there was something I could have done, I shouldn't have raised the issue, or I should have not allowed my comments to start such a torrent of disagreement. I feel so guilty right now, like it is all my fault. I am very depressed and don't know quite what to do. I plan on speaking to my priest about it before the Good Friday liturgy tommorow, and am going to church early specifically for that purpose. If you can all pray for that woman who left upset and myself I would greatly appreciate it. Please pray that neither of us make any terrible mistakes and that God will heal us and all on that forum.

Hersch

Prayers for both of you.

Please remember that communication is a funny thing; nobody can control how others respond to it, so the only way to prevent hurt is not to communicate. Which sends a different message. You absolutely could not predict what response would be made to your comments.

Lord of Powers be with us, for in times of distress we have no other helper but you. God of Powers have mercy on Hersch.
