In the O.T. many jews were married even some that were apart of the Essenes.
My question is "are there any jews today who have decided to not marry for reasons like some Religious Orders in the Catholic church?

Not exactly the same thing, but there have been some rabbinical scholars whose decision to not marry was seen as acceptable because they were so engrossed in their scholarship. By and large, I believe that is uncommon.
