On a practical note, though, maybe it is more important to foster various forms of cooperation than to stress organizational unity at this stage?
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

If we could work more together on:
  • catechesis
  • advertizing
  • service projects
  • socials (multi-parish picnics... fundraisers...)
  • priestly formation & accademics
  • monastic support
  • sacramental cooperation (like helping eachother with reconciliation, hospital visits, etc...)
  • youth
  • websites (much like ByzCath.org is trying to do with it's "find a parish")
  • bible study
  • and much more....
Eventually we will grow together organicly.

All of these ideas would take coordination and effort, but most functions would benefit greatly from working together.

Benedicite!

I'm not quite sure I understand. All Eastern Catholic patriarchs are equal with regard to the patriarchal dignity, except for purely honorary precedence (CCEO can. 59 1).

My (limited) understanding is that all of the Churches have at least some attachment to one of the five Great Patriarchs (pentarchy, etc.). (This is complicated somewhat by *which* claimant is "the" Patriarch, but . . .).

hawk, waiting for someone more knowledgeable about the issue to step in cnad correct him or explain
