A cousin, Father Donal McVeigh, SJ, will be having surgery on the 9th. While it is a day surgical procedure, surgery always involves risks. I ask the prayers of my brothers and sisters for Father's quick and uncomplicated recovery.
May Father Donal's doctors be guided by the Holy Unmercenary Physicians, Cosmas and Damien, in their diagnosis and treatment of him and may he recover swiftly and without incident and be granted many years in God's service.
"One day all our ethnic traits ... will have disappeared. Time itself is seeing to this. And so we can not think of our communities as ethnic parishes, ... unless we wish to assure the death of our community."
