Hi folks,

I was wondering if you could keep me in your prayers for at least the next week or so. I've been having a whole slew of interviews lately (I'm unemployed and have been for almost a year) and I need to connect with something soon. As I approach the one year mark, it seems that I have been getting more emotionally edgy as well. It's been a very tough time for my wife and I.

Dearest brother in Christ, Chris,

My heartfelt prayers for you to find employment through the powerful intercessions of blessed St. Xenia of Petersburg, who when faithfully and humbly invoked for prayer never fails to answer prayers for employment.

May the Lord bless your interviews. May the Theotokos bring peace and calm to your and your wife's soul. Amen.

In Christ,
Alice

Having spent just short of a year unemployed not long back, it's a frustrating, depressing, degrading, and unhealthy existence and I pray, Chris, that your interviews are fruitful and that you are offered a position at which you will excel, be appropriately rewarded, and which you will enjoy. Prayers for your wife as well, because it takes its toll on the entire family, and not just financially, but perhaps more so emotionally.

Chris,

I understand exactly what you're going through. I watched my sister-in-law lose her job and not find work for the better part of last year. After 8 months of worry, anxiety, and depression, she finally started getting calls/interviews. The long and short of it, she was offered an excellent long term temporary job with good pay and benefits and can apply for it to become permanent. It was as if God was working "in the background" to prepare something, though it looked like "nothing was happening" all year long. I tell you this to encourage and edify you. We are praying for you and your family.

Worst "interview" I've ever had today for a state organization. They advertised for a job that didn't even exist! I was shocked to hear this within the first minute of the interview. The "durational" job they anticipate may open in its place (not guaranteed--maybe a year from now from what they told me) is even lower in stature than the job first advertised. Ugh....bottom line, the ad and even their response to me indicating an interview was a flat out LIE. I traveled 30 miles and wasted 1/4 tank of gas. This is just a sample of what's been going on.

I'm having a good cry now.

Don't despair, dear brother. God will not abandon you. He hears the depths of your sorrow, your disappointments and your fear. God loves a heart that is humbled, and who isn't when they go through such challenges? You are not alone. Many have been where you are. There is always hope...Cling to Him and He will provide for you as He provides for the birds. I am praying to St. Xenia of Petersburg for her intercessions for you and the other Chris for employment.
Kyrie Eleison!

In Christ,
Alice
