Ukrainian nun target of threats before being murdered, priest says
WARSAW, Poland (CNS) -- A spokesman for Ukraine's Eastern Catholic Church declined to speculate on the motives in the murder of a 28-year-old nun. However, he confirmed that the nun had been the target of threats before her death, as well as "daily disagreements" with local Orthodox leaders. "For now, we don't want to speculate about any religious motive for this murder," said Father Yuryi Sakvuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Catholic Archdiocese of Lviv. "We should learn as a nation and church from this sad event, especially how to forgive rather than expressing anger toward people we don't know," he said. The priest spoke after the June 9 funeral of Sister Anna Hlova, a member of the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate. The nun disappeared in Vinnytsia June 2.
Just surfin' and lurkin' late at night and found this blurb on CNS. Does anyone have more information on this, or know of a good site, besides RISU?
Is this substantial?
