I am having another surgery this coming Wednesday, March 18. This will be the 14th surgery on my back since November 6, 2005. I keep getting infections that require surgeries to clean them up, only the surgery makes the original incision (from December 3, 2007) bigger and deeper. This surgery is supposed to fix the problem for once and all, but we tried the same thing last October, 2008. I went in with a hole in my back about the size of a half dollar and about 1/2 inch deep. Due to a number of circumstances, the surgery was a total failure and I came home with a hole in my back 9 inches long, 4 inches wide and 3 inches deep. I have been healing for the past five months and my surgeon now feels we can close the wound up once and for all.
Please, I need any and all prayers so that the surgery works and I do not become infected again. (I have had 8 infections since Dec 18, 2007.)
Prayers for the swift and complete recovery of our brother and friend, Tim
"One day all our ethnic traits ... will have disappeared. Time itself is seeing to this. And so we can not think of our communities as ethnic parishes, ... unless we wish to assure the death of our community."
Yes, let's keep the prayers for Tim going through the week, please....
Like St. Job, please dear Lord, hear the prayers of your servant, Tim, and having remained steadfast to you, through much personal bodily suffering, guide his surgeon's hands, and work through his immune system to recover completely. AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!
In Christ, Alice
Please Tim, if you can annoint yourself or have someone annoint you daily with oil and prayer of a miraculous saint, such as St. John Maximovitch, or St. Nektarios, or any other miraculous saint,---please do it.
Thank you very much for your prayers and good thoughts. I am home now and glad to say I am feeling much better than I thought I would. The surgeon did not have to do nearly as much work as he had planned on doing--in large part to everyone's prayers and God's good grace. The work he did do was so much smaller than planned it was amazing. He did not have to move any muscles or do a skin graft, just sort of moved the muscles and skin that was already there around and then close it up. Which means my recovery period is going to be much shorter and the long term effects from my surgery will be much less severe. As long as I can stay infection free and keep things going with the healing process, things should work out nicely. And that is a relief.
My priest came to bless me the day before we left for the hospital and asked me how many surgeries I had had all together--and when I counted I was surprised to find this was the 21st surgery! The 19th since 1994! I was guesstimating before I actually stopped and counted with my wife. And I hope this will be my last. WIth the Bohodoroce's intercession and God's help, things will finally be over.
