Please pray for Abbot Eugene Hayes O.Praem of St. Michael's Abbey. He is going in for a throat surgery tomorrow. He was barely able to speak above a hoarse whisper at the Easter Vigil. I don't know if he is receiving a tracheotomy. In a biopsy before Easter they found he had cancerous cells in his vocal chords. They scraped them, however that seems to not have been enough. Please pray for him!

God, have mercy on your servant, Abbot Eugene Hayes, O.Praem of St. Michael's Abbey. Please guide these surgeons as they operate on his throat and let him receive the best medical care. Be close to Him in these difficult days and during his recovery. Restore his health and his voice.. Amen.

Abbot Eugene's surgery was successful according to a Norbertine priest that one of our posters, who wishes to remain anonymous, knows. He wrote that it's a 'stage one' cancer and that they operated successfully on Abbot Eugene.
Continued prayers to the Lord God for Abbot Eugene's healing.
