Does anybody have any pics (interior or exterior) of the Ruthenian church in Meriden, CT? I can't seem to find any on the net.

SS,

See Look Around [lookaround123.com] (scroll down) and Saint Nicholas Center [stnicholascenter.org]

Many years,

Neil

Chris,

If anyone does, I suspect it will be one of your fellow nutmeggers. I've generally got a pretty good handle on what's available on-line (because of searching to locate photos for the on-line directory) and I'm unaware of any interior shots of St Nicholas'.

Many years,

Neil

The only one that I know of, is in the 1999 75th Anniversary book put out by the Pittsburgh Archdiocese. It had a picture of every parish at the time, inside and out. St. Nicholas is in there. But that's not online.

St. Nicholas Center has moved to a new platform and the above link no longer works. This is the correct link for St. Nicholas Greek Catholic Church on St. Nicholas Center [stnicholascenter.org].

Update: We heard at liturgy at Holy Trinity today that St. Nicholas will be closing.

Very sad.

I spoke with Vladyka William today after the Enthronement of Bishop Nicholas as Eparch of Newton. Vladyka confirmed that this is going to happen - although I don't think he cited a date.

Chris, did you hear 'when'?

Selfishly, I hope that someone will take an interior photo of the temple that I can add to the soon-to-be historical directory entry for the parish.

May the memory of St Nicholas be eternal!

I didn't get a date, I'm afraid. I'll try to get Father Tony to get a picture(s).

Those of us at Holy Trinity in New Britain are hoping that those from St. Nicholas will find a new home with us.

(I'm Stormshadow's wife by the way grin)

I do indeed have a history of St. Nicholas which contains a photo of the interior. I will have to navigate through my chaotic and illogical filing system so please be patient. With the closing of St. Nicholas and the Magyar parish in Bridgeport, the number of Byzantine parishes in CT,formerly five, is down to three.

Now I know why I collect these histories...
