"The parish’s metropolitan or bishop is directly under the leadership of the pope."
Is it too much to ask a religion reporter to take an elementary course in ecclesiology?

For all I know, I'm the last to have seen this article from The Catholic Anchor, the newspaper of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Anchorage, Alaska. But if you haven't seen it, it's worth a look. Here's the link: http://catholicanchor.org/wordpress/?p=313.
I particularly enjoyed Father Barrand's take on Byzantine Catholicism, the story of his conversion, and his thoughts on Greek-Latin relations.

Yes, it is to much to ask - for a mere human interest story. People who want a more in-depth understanding of the niceties of how our Church functions can always contact te priest for supplementary information. I woudn't be a bit surprised if that happened.A lot of people crave spirituality in their lives.

Not unprecedented, there was a movement in the 19th century among some Protestants, not sure if Calvinists or Lutherans, in Slovakia, who converted to the GC Church rather than the RC.

Shlomo Bergschlawiner, Actually it was primarily within Hungary that Calvinist became Greek Catholic. Here is a link to the Hungarian Greek Catholic Church [ en.wikipedia.org] on Wikipedia. Also here is a link to the Eastern Catholic Pastorial Association of Southern California on the very same subject. [ faswebdesign.com] Fush BaShlomo, Yuhannon

Is it too much to ask a religion reporter to take an elementary course in ecclesiology? Shlomo Stuart, What really fries my beans is when we write to our local papers and they ignore us. For the last few years I and other Maronites here in Las Vegas have been trying to have an article written in the religion section of our local paper (the Review Journal) about our parish and they have not even given us the respect to say that they have received our correspondence. they have not even given us the respect to say that they have received our correspondence. That's pretty much what happens when I write to the Chancery of the Eparchy of Passaic.
