This is my first post, and I think the Evangelization thread is the best place to start. So, here goes~!
I am interested in finding someone who would be skilled/eager to create brochures to hand out to people in door to door evangelism. My parish is in the South, where people have problems accepting the thought of conversion to Catholicism, much less Byzantine Catholicism. So, this impacts content delivery obviously.
If anyone here would be interested in sharing their experience with i) evangelizing in the South ii) evangelizing door to door iii) creating effective brochures to that end then, please reply to this thread or e-mail me. I have no qualms about walking on the shoulders of giants...
If you have always wanted to create a great hook with which to snag souls, then maybe this creative opportunity is your chance. I've created a small brochure of my own, but I don't think it has the "umph!" needed. Thanks! In Christ, Fr. Jason Charron Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church, Garner, NC

Welcome to the forum, Father Jason. I don't doubt that we have a few folks here who would be pleased to offer some ideas.
Many years,

Father Bless: As a former southerner (been in PA now for forty years)I might be able to tell you why my husband and I first turned to the Catholic Church (me first then him) and we are now moving East. If you want please contact me with a private message.

Kathleen, Christ is in our midst! By all means, do share what lead you East. I want to find out those key characteristics from our tradition which most appeals to Southern Baptists. I have my list of items, but I was not raised in the South, nor was I raised as a Protestant.
I'm all ears, Fr. Jason

My husband, Fr. Deacon Stan took a pretty good course at the University of Steubenville some years back on Evangelization. They did a lot of door to door practice and had very interesting results.

Since you are over your limit for private messages, please contact me, and I can go over what your needs are. Further, this will be a great way to pay back your Church since it was a Ukrainian Catholic priest that helped me find my Eastern roots. Fush BaShlomo (Stay in Peace), Yuhannon

Father Jason, Bless,
It isn't you - there is an automatic hold on the PM feature for new members, that releases after they've posted a certain number of times. It's a common feature in forums to avoid the problems that crop up with hit-and-run spammers.
Many years,
Neil

I thank you all for your helpfulness. Much appreciated!
Related to this, I'm trying to figure out the best ways to undertake this evangelical drive and, frankly, the more suggestions the better.
Concretely, what are the best ways to make contact with Protestants? I'm convinced that once they see Tradition alive, they will fall in love with it, but how do we bring them to that point? I'm not comfortable with invading another church's Wednesday evening Bible Study, not with polluting their Sunday morning parking lot with flyers for my church. What seems left is door-to-door evangelism (which I kind of like, anyway!).
Please, share your experience! Fr. Jason

Greetings! I am a Church Development Director and run an evangelization board and would love to help you out. My email is: apostolicfaith@cox.net
Here is 2 very important issues when going door-to-door: 1. Your flyers needs to by of color paper (making it stand out) and of a unique size, small or big (making it standout more). White computer paper blends with others and is easily forgotten. 2. When you go door-to-door invite them to worship but dont say, "it would be great if you could come." Hold them accountable! Say, "can you come?" This is far more effective.
I would love to help you out.

Hello, I am new to the forum. I found it when I searched for effective methods for door to door evangelism. I have read the posts here and just wanted to suggest perhaps looking info the Legion of Mary for more information on door to door evangelism. They are a lay apostolate, approved by the Church, and have had wonderful success in door to door evagelism. Just my two cents....
