Took a look at the websites of St. Basil (irving) and St. Sophia (Colony) and things don't look too good for them. St. Basil doesn't have a priest? ST. Sophia lacks information, and part of it has been compromised by hacks.
Anyone have further info on these?

St. Basil has a priest Fr. Stephen Muth, from the Eparchy of Parma, at least in the appointment. I have not heard as to whether or not he has made it there after recovering from his Cardiac Surgery.

Dave, Just checked St Sophia's website [stsophiaukrainian.cc] and it appears to be back and free of problems. Schedule of Sunday liturgies is on the main page. Father Stephen is tentatively scheduled to arrive at St Basil's this week, but that date might slip by a week or so, depending on the progress of his recovery. Many years, Neil

Despite the negative effects of not having a resident priests, St. Basil's is doing remarkably well, taking into account the Greek Catholicism is a very minority religion here in north Texas. God is very generous with us. He has taken us along a road none of us wanted to travel (being without resident priest)but He has also -seen to it that we have had Divine Liturgy on practically every Sunday since May 2008, and even some weekday Liturgies, even pre-Sanctified during Great lent; -maintained our community through a core group of dedicated individuals and familes and -provided us with a very dedicated administor in the person of Fr. Elias Rafaj, who has not only pastored us but also his parish in Houston.
I think we have been trying to act and think according to the admonition in Romans 12:12 "rejoice in hope, be patient under trials, perservere in prayer."
And I hope everyone reading this post will pray for our parish, that it become a radiant beacon in the darkness of contemporary society. Thanks in advance.

And I'd like to thank the other priests who have been available to serve us @ St. Basil's: Frs. Damon Geiger, Philip Aquaro, Dennis Smith,Yuri Koslovsky,Dan Forsythe,Philip Seeton and a recently-ordained Franciscan friar whose name unfortunately escapes me. If I left anyone else out of this list, I apologize and want to assure him and all these priests of our gratitude and prayer for them.

The St. Sophia site works for me, and Fr. Deacon John (Novocilsky) occasionally posts on this Forum. I am happy to see another English Liturgy recently added there.

It's hard to say. Likely, it will be less attended than a Sunday Liturgy. I'd suggest waiting until Sunday, but perhaps others here who know the parishes involved would know better?

Two things: 1) the Franciscan friar who served us at St. Basil's was Fr. Jerome Wolbert, OFM. I am chagrined that I forgot his name, but at least we didn't forget the good he did while with us. 2) Metropolitan Basil has appointed Fr. Damon Geiger as resident administrator of St. Basil's, effective yesterday, Feb. 19, 2010. We could not wish for a more qualified priest as "he is a man filled the the Spirit, and with faith."

We could not wish for a more qualified priest as "he is a man filled the the Spirit, and with faith." I take it that Father Stephen is recovering more slowly than was hoped? Prayers for him. Father Damon is a wonderful priest and will be a blessing to the parish. He was, for a few years, rector of the Melkite Eparchial Seminary, and has pastored or administered several of our parishes. (As memory serves, he still sits on our Eparchial Liturgical Commission.) Many years, Neil

I'm still trying to work in attending a DL... I might try to attend an Orthodox DL since there's a few more choices as far as scheduling and proximity to my house....
I might try St Basil this weekend...
Just difficult with a couple of family issues going on.... it might be a while though... :(

Well I attended St. Seraphim (OCA) presanctified Liturgy last night...my first Orthodox service... It was a beautiful building, and the liturgy was beautiful too... of course a little hard to follow... very solemn..
