Dear Orthodox Catholic, Can I go with you? Since that seems to be impossible, here goes my share: "Your Holiness, Thank you. I will pray for you. I admire your courage and faithfulness. I thank our Master for that. I wanted to ask if it is possible for you to initiate/promulgate a single Catechism for the whole Church (East/West) so our separated brethen may see that we are one. Just a though." I dont know... thats all I can think. The very thought that you'll read this to him makes me nervous. But he is our father is he not, so give him my ps. "Viva Il Papa!" Thanks

I would tell him Vatican II was a mistake. The new liturgy of the Latin Church is an horrible. It may be heresy since they changed Christ words, "I do this for many" into "I do this for all". I think the Bible warns us about "Adding too" or "Taking away from my words".
Ecumenism is a sin and His Holiness is on the boardline of heresy.
I would tell the Pope to leave the Eastern Catholic Churches alone. They are of no concern to Him unless they speak of heresy. That includes the Holy See.
I would tell the Pope to start to close down all of the Catholic Universities that no longer teach Catholic doctrine.
Finally, I would tell the Pope to defrock all of the priest even if the numbers include MOST of the priest if they are active Homosexuals and refuse to repent. Better to have a smaller holy church than a large sinful one.
I could go on an on....

I forgot the most important thing I'd say:
"Pray for me, a sinner."

Yea, I should add that I would tell the Pope that I am praying for him.
God Bless!

Dear Alex,
When you meet the Holy Father, please tell him that I give thanks to God for his great example of holiness, that I've read a few of his books/writings and thoroughly enjoyed them, having benefited much from his insights, and that I regularly pray for him. Please ask him to pray for me, a sinner, and for my family and friends and for our needs, for me to persevere in spiritual progress even when it gets tough, for my vocational discernment, and just in general for me. Also, please ask him for his apostolic blessing for me and for my family and friends.
I guess that's it. Lucky you, having lunch with the Pope. After you get back from it, let us know what you ate. :p

Alex: Why don't you just give him a big bear hug and say, "We love you!"

Alex,
If you can do that, give him an extra one from me.
In any case, thank him for his willingness to empty himself for love of God and of us.
Assure him that his witness to the value of suffering and the worth of the elders among us has not gone unnoticed.
Tell him Sto Lat!
Ask him to bless and pray for us and ours.
Steve
PS Thank you for thinking of us at this time of great honor for you.

Oh yes! and ask His Holiness if he can offer even just a drop of His Holiness' suffering. Pray for me and all of us. And a nice big Apostolic Blessing Thanks again.

1) Offer him our deepest thanks for being, as some have already started calling him, John Paul the Great in myriad ways.
2) Tell him that the only critical point I would dare raise would be to say that many, if not most, of his episcopal appointments, especially (but not, alas, exclusively) in the Latin Church have been mediocre at best, and pernicious and appalling at worst (with a few noble and illustrious exceptions), and that, therefore, he needs either to reform the system of appointments dramatically, or sack the lot of them and start again. I can provide a list of the top 25 I'd like to see go. Some of them even have red hats!

I would also give his holiness one of the Anglican Use Chaplets with information on how to pray it. I'll try and get one in the mail tommorrow in case you want to give himone Alex.

Dear Alex,
How wonderful that you'll have this opportunity!
First, I would thank him. Second, I would ask him to pray for me--I am not yet Catholic, but would love to come into the Church. However, my circumstances with my family are such that it would be very difficult for me to do right now. I would ask that he pray that my circumstances change so that I may come into the Church with my husband, who was baptized Catholic but who wants nothing to do with the Church.
God Bless!
Jenny

Dear Friends,
I truly love reading all your posts and your innermost thoughts that you would like to share with His Holiness, including our Orthodox brothers!
Thank you, +Ray, and I withdraw my earlier comments here to make it all nice and clean!
In any event, Friends, I am now undergoing a rather severe security check. I'll collect all your posts on Monday next, so keep 'em coming!
In addition to you know what, the Pope will be having lunch at a women's monastery that is located directly behind our home!
(The menu was written up in the weekend papers.)
Alex

Dear Nik,
O.K., I think I can pick you out in a crowd.
I wear glasses, am tall and dark-haired.
Hopefully, we'll bump into each other.
Alex
