I've put together a couple of sets I thought might be of interest with some pictures I've taken or gathered and put on my flickr page. The first is of my own parish and the set is here [ flickr.com] The second are public domain images I've found on the Library of Congress and those are here [ flickr.com] I'm also working on some similar sets for Catholic churches which I can post.

Wow! Thank you! Those are wonderful photos. Your church is really lovely, and the Library of Congress images were fascinating. Thanks so much for posting these.

No problem, glad you enjoyed them. A couple others here [ flickr.com] and here [ flickr.com] taken this summer at Camp Nazareth.

Wonderful. Thank you. I could use some explanation on a couple of those from the Library of Congress. Interesting collection!

Let me know which ones you're thinking of and I'll do my best to explain them, or at least why I added them. I put some more pictures up I took on Sunday of a Slovak Roman Catholic Church here [ flickr.com].

Even in the Library of Congress, the Church (Catholic and/or Orthodox) does not have "priestesses". The photograph shows two nuns, the elder of which (to the left) is wearing the Great Schema, which could be thought to resemble and Epitrachelion; the younger nun is wearing the Lesser Schema.
As Will Rogers put it, the problem is not so much ignorance as it is the abundance of people who "know" things that are not so!

I updated this [ flickr.com] set today with some more pictures of the altar. There's also a couple photos of a service book people might recognize that I found on our chanter's stand. For the seriously bored, I put some I've already posted in this [ flickr.com] set. It has some Catholic, some Orthodox and some other pictures.

Beautiful, my friend - all of them.
The iconostasis at Holy Ghost in Phoenixville is exquisite; next time that I'm down in Collegeville, I'm going to have to drive down the road to see that personally.
Some very nice detail of Trinity Church in Copley Square, as well. Trinity is an architecturally beautiful church, both inside and out. Standing in the center of the square and looking left to right at Trinity and at the front of the Boston Public Library, across the square from it, can help one to ignore some of the awful architecture in the area.

I took some over Thanksgiving week in KC. The set is intermixed with a bunch of church photos, both Catholic and Orthodox, in it. It's easier to post the set. Link [ flickr.com].

Beautiful architecture is beautiful architecture! The 'Our Lady of Perpetual Help' Church is particularly beautiful. (I always loved the Gothic style)
