Prayers for our Syriac brethren.

O Lord, receive the soul of Your servants who have departed from this earthly place while praying in Your House; lead them to rest in a place of light, happiness, and peace, where there is neither pain nor suffering, neither grief nor sighing, but only life everlasting. And as You are a gracious God and the Lover of Mankind, forgive them every sin they may have committed by thought, word, deed, or omission, for there is not a man who lives and does not sin, for You alone are without sin and You are the Resurrection and the Life.

May their memories be eternal.

Eternal memory. Give rest, O Lord, to the souls of Thy servants who have fallen asleep

May God bring comfort to these suffering people and the grace of repentance to the terrorists. Truly brutal and sickening.

O Master, Lord our God, Who in Thy wisdom hast created man, and didst honor him with Thy Divine image, and place in him the spirit of life, and lead him into this world, bestowing on him the hope of resurrection and life everlasting; and after he had violated Thy commandments, Thou O Gracious lover of mankind, didst descend to the earth that Thou mightest renew again the creation of Thy hands.

Therefore we pray Thee, O All-Holy Master give rest to the souls of Thy servants, whose names are not known to us, in a place of brightness, a place of green pasture, a place of repose, and, in that they have sinned in word, or deed or thought forgive them:

For Thou art a good God and lovest mankind and unto Thee do we ascribe Glory, together with Thy Father, Who is from everlasting and Thine All-Holy and good, and ever giving Spirit, now, and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

For no one is pure and without blemish even though his life on earth be a single day.

As for those, O Lord, whose souls You have taken, repose them, and may they be worthy of the kingdom of the heavens.

As for us all, grant us our Christian perfection that would be pleasing to You, and give them and us a share and an inheritance with all Your saints."

May the memory of the Lord's servants and martyrs, the Priests Taher Saadallah (Boutros) and Wassim (Sabih), and the faithful killed with them at the Catholic Church of Sayidat al-Nejat be eternal.

Lord, have mercy! Memory eternal!

May they rest in peace!
