I am trying to find out whether the Patronage of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church in Baltimore, MD is still in operation. They are listed on this website, but as far as I can tell, their website hasn't been updated since 2007. Anyone know for sure?

Ben. Welcome to the forum! Yes, Patronage is still viable and, in fact, has a couple of active missions. You can get contact info, directions, etc, at our directory entry for it. Many years, Neil

Websites, whether ecclesiatical or civilian, come and go with the enthusiasm or lack thereof of the pastor or layperson who has taken interest in this "modern" technology.
There are still many people who have never been on the internet or had a checking account, credit card, etc. I have found that you can't judge the spiritual life of a parish by its website.
The people of the Patronage parish would be happy to see you.

Websites, whether ecclesiatical or civilian, come and go with the enthusiasm or lack thereof of the pastor or layperson who has taken interest in this "modern" technology. Isn't that the truth There are still many people who have never been on the internet or had a checking account, credit card, etc. I have found that you can't judge the spiritual life of a parish by its website. No, Deacon Paul, one can't - but it is increasingly the medium by which a lot of folk do and, as I've posted before, there are - in many parishes - resources among the faithful who can be recruited to assist in these endeavors. I cringe still every time that I hear someone opine about a time to come when server problems and not bookworms will be the threat to the written word. However, I cannot deny that a parish which doesn't employ the available technology will suffer in the long run for neglecting the opportunity to do so. Interesting thing about Patronage's site, as I recollect, is that if 'last updated = 2007' wasn't emblazoned on the front page in bold red, it's likely no one would be the wiser. Many years, Neil
