I just noticed a link on the www.hrmonline.org [hrmonline.org] site to a new web site called Eastern Christian Media. I don't know how long it's been up and running. There are some good videos there to introduce folks to the ECC.

If you haven't seen the YourWordFromTheWise interviews with monks from Holy Resurrection Monastery at www.youtube.com/user/YourWordFromTheWise [youtube.com] these are a more low tech but wonderful resource.

It must be at least 7 years old because it commemorates +John Paul II and +Basil as the Bishop of Parma. I wonder who the Latin priest is and if he is there regularly.

The Latin rite priest was a regular attender, who helped out at many churches in the area. He was retired at the time, and has since had to cease because of health difficulties. I'm ashamed to say I forgot his name, but I'm sure prayers for his welfare would be good.

I didn't look at the video completely but I'm pretty sure that you are talking about Fr. Ray. I always liked having him there on Easter Sunday because then the Gospel would be read in English, Slavonic and Latin. I THINK the video was made sometime between 2001 and 2003. I found myself in the congregation. If it was made before 2001 my grandma would have been sitting next to me. If it was made after 2003 I would have been wearing contact lenses instead of my glasses. Sorry I don't have an exact date, but at least I narrowed it down a bit!

My guess would be 2001 or 2002 then because of the commemoration of +Basil

Christ is Risen!

What a wonderful teaching tool this website is! Its a great catechetical tool for young people who are internet savvy.

It appears to me that Father Tom Loya and Bishop John have pooled resources and enlisted the talent to put it in cyberspace. May God grant them many blessed years!

Indeed He is risen!

Does anyone know who is behind Eastern Christian Media? Is it the Eparchy of Parma maybe? I'm asking because their site has been down all week and I wonder if they know it. I've been wanting to refer folks to some of their video material.

Mary Louise,

It's back up presently. They are out of Cleveland and I'm guessing some connection with the Eparchy of Parma, but I can't confirm that.

Many years,

Neil
