Please remember in your prayers Gene. Gene is a member of the Holy Trinity community in CT. I just learned that Gene is in the ICU, not sure of specifics. Please remember him in your prayers.

Chris,

Gene had an emergency operation for an aneurysm in his aorta artery, on Saturday. We were told before they took him to surgery, "we are going to try to save his life."

The doctors and nurses are amazed at his rate of recovery. They are calling it a "miracle." As we know, the "power of prayers" does work miracles.

He is being transfer out of the ICU today. The healing process is going to be long, we've been advised.

Let's us rejoice in each day in the progress of his healing.

Thank everyone for the prayers. And keep them coming!

I just received this update from Gene's wife Jeanette...

Prayers for Gene's full and uneventful recovery and prayers for his wife and family, that they are strengthened in this time of trial.

Update on Gene. Gene was returned to ICU and I just learned passed earlier this week. His funeral will be Monday. Gene leaves behind a wife Jeanette (49 years) and a Son Eugene, his wife and two adorable grandchildren Angela and Eugene III...

Please remember him and his family in your prayers at this difficult time.

May his memory be eternal!

In blessed repose, grant, O Lord, eternal rest to Your servant, Gene, and may his memory be eternal. Also grant consolation and peace to his family and friends.

May Gene's memory be eternal and may his family, particularly his wife, Jeanette, be comforted in this time of sorrow.

Thank you everyone. Gene's funeral is this AM (which I will unfortunately miss with a sick daughter home from school)...Gene is being buried from a RCC parish but I had the privledge to assist and cantor when a local Orthodox priest was present at the wake last night and offered to celebrate a panahida at the funeral home. For anyone wondering why an Orthodox priest was there in the first place, Fr. Peter buried his mother, who passed earlier in the year and had been to the ICU several times to pray with him. (Gene's, rather large extended family, was one of the families split years ago between Pittsburgh and Johnstown. Thank God they all get along and respect each other.)
