New member here, I am helping my church with our National Melkite Convention this year in Detroit. I need to have printed up some life size Byzantine icons, similar to what you would see in the front our our churches. I will need 4 icons: Jesus, Blessed Mother, St John, Feast of Assumption. I need them electronically so they can be enlarged and used at our convention celebration. The tricky part is, they need to be in the .ai or .eps high resolution format so they can be enlarged. Thanks for the help.

Welcome Zahleweh,

Always nice to have another Melkite join us. We're getting to be a rather substantial group here - a lot different than it was 8 or so years ago, when I think Deacon Ed Faulk and I were pretty much the only 2 Melkites who posted regularly.

Many years,

Neil

Contact fellow forum member Jack Figel. He made a set for the Orientale Lumen conferences, and I believe he has the files for the images on his computer.

Thank you Brother Neil. I plan on sticking around. This looks like a great site and plan on learning and contributing. Are you coming to the convention?

Stuart,

Is there any chance you can send a PM to Jack Fidel for me? I hate to ask you to PM his email since I'm new. I am only asking because I cannot PM for 30 days since I'm new and I don't want to delay this. I want to keep my commitment to be timely. Thank you! Tom

All,

I am far behind myself as a Byzantine in terms of being active in my community. You will not find me listed online. I googled Jack Figel and found all of his info, he is very active. Thanks for the lead.

I thought Stuart had changed from Ruthenian to Melkite.

Zahleweh,

You have PM capability now.

Many years,

I am one more Melkite. I serve at St. Joseph Melkite Church in Lawrence, MA.

Zahlleweh:
Are you looking for icons you can use for services during the Convention? If so, get in touch w/Deacon Paul Leonarczyk at the Chancery. He may know where there is a set you can borrow.

In Christ,
Protodeacon Bryan

Deacon Bryan,

Welcome to the forum. Next best thing to having another Melkite here is having another one from Massachusetts.

Many years,

Neil

Thank you all for the support and recommendations. Yes Protodeacon Bryan, this is for the convention services i have reached out to Deacon Paul first. I have called and emailed, but it is my understanding that he is very busy with his role as chancellor and I have not heard back. Therefore my post on here. I have reached out to Jack Figel as well who I'm sure is as busy. Thanks again all for the support.

So I ended up finding some nice Icons online. I used the Dormition of the Theotokos, Our Savior, St. Gabriel, and St. Michael. I printed them at Kinkos, a large poster size on foam board. We will mount it to a wood frame/stand. It came out great. I got decent size resolution photos from this site: http://spiritualpaintings.com/icons.html

My pastor was pleased. Thanks for all of the support. Tom
