Statement on the death of His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia, Maxim

God-loving brothers and sisters, in the early morning of November 6, 2012, His Holiness Maxim, Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia, reposed in the Lord after a short illness due to heart failure, at University Hospital "Lozenets" at 03.30 hours. ... His Holiness translated into eternity while sound of mind and sober thought, addressing his final blessing to all his children at home and abroad.

Orthodox Christians are urged to make sincere prayer in the Holy Orthodox Church that the merciful God claim to Himself the soul of our dear patriarch in the kingdom - the realm of the righteous. Eternal, blissful and bright be the memory of His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim. God forgive!

/s/ Stobiyski Bishop Naum, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod

May the memory of the High Priest Maxim be eternal!
