Greetings:
I am hoping someone can answer this question. Is there some simple way of determining what Tone to use in a given week?
I was in the Daily Office book Let Us Pray to the Lord and when I go to the propers for Thursday there are two options (Holy Apostles or Holy Father Nicholas).
The choice made is dependent upon the tone of the week..
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!
So if I understand correctly, since both Pascha and Thomas Sunday are in Tone 1, then Tone 1 is used on the weekdays after both of these Sundays? Tone 1 in this case is two weeks in duration.

The Antiochian "Year at a Glance" Liturgical guide indicates no "Tone of the Week" for Holy Week, Renewal (Pascha) Week, and Thomas Week.
The cycle is reset with Tone 2 on the Sunday of the Myrrh-bearers.
Because most of the Praises during Holy Week are in Tone 1 it could be argued that Tone 1 is the Tone of the Week for Holy Week.
